The first lgbt Youth Games in the world!
Since 2007, Pride Games has offered a very special mutli-games and physical activity weekend programme for disadvantaged young lgbt people aged 16-25, called Pride Youth Games. Following on from past successes, Pride Youth Games has now become a national event open to all young lgbt people aged 16-25.
Such was the popularity of our 2nd Pride Youth Games (2008), it doubled in size and featured an opening ceremony and parade, with youth bands, speeches and a firework display, at Trafford Athletics Stadium. The Lord Mayor, Police Commisioner, Councillors from across Greater Manchester and many other important visitors came to show their support. Pride Youth Games also had its own heat in the famous Pride Games Bell Boat Regatta! an event where all games participants take part together.
The event is not about being excellent at a particular sport, it is about coming along, giving it a go and having a good time taking part. Partners in this process include; LGBT Youth North West, LGYM, Pride Sports, Open Athletics, LIK:T, 42nd Street.
