Pride Games Dinner 2009
Thursday, 20 November 2008
This year sees the return of the fabulous Pride Games dinner on February 19 at the Jarvis Piccadilly hotel in Manchester. The Dinner is an evening of good food and great entertainment, which attracts more than 250 people from Manchester's LGBT sports and business communities.
The 2009 event will also see the presentation of the Pride Games LGBT Community Sports Awards. These Awards have been established by Pride Sports, the company behind Pride Games. Pride Sports Directors Trevor Burchick and Lou Englefield told us "Its time we recognised and celebrated the huge amount of talent and commitment in LGBT community sport across Greater Manchester".
Nominations opened on 14 November for awards in each of the following categories: Sports Achiever of the Year (male & female), Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Community Investor of the Year. The Community Investor award has been established to recognise the support given to LGBT sports groups from local businesses.
The winners in each category will receive a prize of £100 towards a sports club and a trophy presented at the Pride Games Dinner. Tickets for the Dinner range in price from £15 - £40 a head and nomination forms for the LGBT Community Sports awards can be downloaded from
